Paris | France’s high-speed train network was thrown into chaos by a coordinated arson attack on several major railway lines on Friday, just hours before the Olympic opening ceremony.
The “acts of vandalism”, as the state-owned train operator SNCF described the attacks, underscore the intense security threat facing Games organisers, athletes and spectators, which has prompted a huge police and military operation in Paris.
