Taiwan's election divides generations as China fears run high

Taipei | Joy Lee is worried. She has flown thousands of kilometres from her home in the United States to vote because she is fearful for her homeland Taiwan.

"I feel obligated. If I don't come here I owe myself and my family an explanation. Taiwan is sinking. There is no fairness anymore," the 66-year-old yells over the sound of hundreds of air horns and chanting at a campaign rally in Taipei this week.
