New case load at lowest but millions in China still in lockdown

Shanghai | China has reported the lowest number of new coronavirus cases since the outbreak became public six weeks ago, as it closed a makeshift hospitals in Wuhan, the city at the centre of the epidemic, in the latest sign authorities have the epidemic under control.

While there are still doubts around the official figures, health authorities have reported only a handful of new cases outside Hubei province each day with the focus now on getting hundreds of millions of people back to work without triggering a fresh outbreak.
