Singapore | Malaysians will head to the polls next month after Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob called snap elections, with his party looking to consolidate power and push ahead with economic reforms.

Mr Ismail finally bowed to pressure from his United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) party to bring forward elections due next year, in a bid to capitalise on a weak opposition.
