Tokyo | Xi Jinping is set to rule China for another decade after a meeting of Communist Party officials endorsed his official re-examination of the country’s modern history that elevates his achievements to the same status as those of revolutionary founder Mao Zedong.
Party officials on Friday outlined details of the “landmark resolution”, the first of its kind in 40 years, which will serve as an ideological road map for the next phase in China’s transformation, and make it even more dangerous to criticise Mr Xi’s policies.
