China's leaders meet to draw up new economic road map
China's leaders met on Monday to hammer out a five-year economic plan aimed at making the world's second-biggest economy less reliant on foreign technology while insulating itself from a global recession induced by the coronavirus pandemic.
President Xi Jinping on Monday addressed a closed-door meeting of about 200 members of the Chinese Communist Party's top policy-making body, called the Central Committee, state news agency Xinhua reported.
