WHO calls for more data after China reports 60,000 COVID deaths
Tokyo | The World Health Organisation has urged China to share more detailed information on its coronavirus situation, after Beijing reported almost 60,000 COVID-19 deaths in the country since early last month.
China reported the COVID-19 deaths on Saturday in the first admission by authorities of mass fatalities since the country abruptly abolished its zero-case policy last month. But experts believe the government is significantly underplaying the figures.
