In 2022, Rajneen Arora was general manager of de Groots Media when the hospitality media company fielded a buyout offer from businessman and restructuring specialist Damien Hodgkinson.

Hodgkinson said any deal for the family-owned company was contingent on Arora taking a 15 per cent stake and becoming chief executive.
