From the son of a migrant garbage truck driver to an ASX100 CEO
Mike Ferraro’s humble beginnings have not been forgotten. The 62-year-old still walks to work most days and is determined his company Alumina is part of the long-term solution to reduce the impact of climate change.
The chief executive of Alumina Limited Mike Ferraro says when he got to law school at Melbourne University after growing up in the Victorian capital’s working class northern suburbs, he felt like a square peg in a round hole.
“Most of the kids came from private schools. I didn’t even know what a private school was,” he says from the alumina producer’s headquarters in Melbourne.
