A corporate veteran jailed for corruption is pleading to be released from jail early partly because he wore a wire that captured evidence against a crooked top bureaucrat.

Wayne Myers was a heavy hitter on Queensland’s business scene – he had been good mates with the now-deceased state ALP treasurer Terry “The Fox” Mackenroth in the 2000s and was appointed to government-backed corporations including energy retailer Ergon.
