University fees changes edge closer to reality

A Senate committee has recommended that the government's overhaul of university fees, which would hike the cost of humanities degrees by up to 113 per cent, should be passed.
Government members of the committee said the bill would deliver certainty for the industry, more places for students and meet the needs of students in regional areas.
