Melbourne University names leading marine biologist as next head

World-renowned marine biologist Emma Johnston will become the University of Melbourne’s first female vice chancellor in its 171-year history when she takes over from Duncan Maskell next year.
Professor Johnston has for two decades been documenting the impacts of humans on the natural environments of Antarctica, Sydney Harbour and the Great Barrier Reef.
