New sustainable fashion school to help clothes keep their cool

Breakthroughs in fabric and clothing manufacturing are set to revolutionise the fashion industry that will reduce waste, shorten supply chains and require a new breed of designers.

A new Centre for Excellence in Fashion and Textiles Sustainability from the University of Technology, Sydney and TAFE NSW’s Sydney Institute will feature specialised equipment and facilities, such as 3D knitting machines, body scanning, digital pattern cutting and 3D printing, said Geoff Lee, the NSW Tertiary Education Minister.
