Beijing warning could be precursor to tough action on universities

A warning from the education ministry in Beijing that some Australian universities have “insufficiently invested” in joint Australian and Chinese courses for overseas students could be the precursor to some universities being removed from a list of educators recognised by China.

The executive officer of the International Student Education Agents Association, Robert Parsonson, said Beijing sometimes delisted higher education providers from its “White List” of approved universities – and could always do it again.
