As a young professional player Clare Wheeler juggled 5am training starts with a day job at financial services giant Macquarie, including skipping out of drills to jump on to work calls.

The “extremely challenging” balancing act ended when Wheeler went overseas in 2021 to play full-time, but the talented midfielder still hopes to come back to business one day. And when she does, she’ll be armed with plenty of lessons from football.
