Chase has stalled in suspected $180m corporate fraud case

A liquidator has not been able to secure ATO funding to aid an investigation into a suspected tax fraud in the construction industry.

More than a year after the Tax Office red-flagged a Sydney construction company as party to what it suspected was the largest corporate tax fraud in the country’s history, players connected to the firm have been targeted over a $12 million payroll debt but otherwise escaped legal action.

Dalma Form Specialist’s liquidator, Bruce Gleeson, from Jones Partners, confirmed in an ASIC report late last year he had been unable to secure money from the ATO or state government tax collector Revenue NSW to fund an investigation into Dalma and its associated businesses.
