Unless and until we pair our tobacco taxes with matchingly strong enforcement, we’ll keep failing to fight illegal tobacco and cut smoking rates.
It takes a special talent to lose $10 billion a year.
Worse still is if you can do that while creating an enormously profitable industry for organised crime, with the cherry on top of hurting the health of hundreds of thousands of Australians.
