Advisers reject claims CPA will descend on their turf
Financial planners have rejected the idea that professional accounting body CPA Advice Australia will be able to take on traditional advisory juggernauts without a big name from the dealer group market at its helm.
CPA Advice Australia pitched the idea of spreading its tentacles into financial advice and has since been taking expressions of interest on its website. It confirmed this week it hoped to be fully operational by July 2016, about the same time an accountants exemption of self-managed super fund advice is due to expire.
