The lawsuit against one of the Turnbull family’s business partners could cost Alex Turnbull dearly.
Aaron PatrickSenior correspondentWhen Alex Turnbull lost a lawsuit last year against one of his father’s closest business partners, Russel Pillemer – a case that destroyed a wealth-generating, decades-long friendship – the presiding judge’s assessment was so brutal that the defendant assumed Turnbull the younger would cough up $1 million for the winner’s legal costs, and probably the same again for himself, and write off the experience to legal misadventure.
