Why thematic ETFs are usually duds
Duncan BurnsContributorInvesting is straightforward, right? Buy low, sell high, and make money. Yet, many investors do the opposite by chasing performance and inadvertently buying what has already done well and selling what has done poorly.
As a result, investor gains are commonly lower than the reported total returns from funds, because not everyone buys and holds for the long term.
