Whispir cuts 30pc of staff, shares surge 40pc

Heavily sold off cloud-based communications technology company Whispir is cutting 30 per cent of its staff to deliver millions of dollars in annual savings, as part of an acceleration to cashflow breakeven.

Shares in the company, which has recently been considered by investors as having a balance sheet problem, surged more than 40 per cent on the back of the job cuts, fetching 69.5¢ at 1:40pm on Tuesday.
