Jocelyn is a blocky, Lego-like woman I meet at Tominoya Casino, a downtown gambling establishment in “Vegas City”. Jocelyn is welcoming and easy to talk to, the sort of person you’d be happy to meet on entering any store, hotel, restaurant or bar.

Except Jocelyn isn’t real. And while the casino she works in has a Vegas address, it’s not one where you can take your flesh and blood body and lose wads of paper greenbacks. Jocelyn exists in Decentraland, a sort of parallel digital universe that forms part of the fast-growing metaverse.
