Throughout 2022, the signs of strain that emerged during the COVID lockdowns were still noticeable at maritime engineering company OMC International; sick days were up, morale was lower and there was less engagement in meetings.

“We lost a few staff during the ’‘great resignation’ which was also impacting on the morale of those who stayed on,” says Allison Wilkinson, general manager of corporate services and strategy at OMC International.
