Smart collar for cows could abolish the need for farm fences

Wherever a farm is located, the first and most important consideration for any farmer running livestock is fence, fence, fence. But a world-leading New Zealand company has a product that could abolish physical fences altogether.

Halter, a farming technology start-up, has designed a smart, solar-powered collar worn by livestock, which allows their movements to be guided by a smartphone app, creating so-called virtual fences.
