Pockets of opportunity despite gloom for IT
While the outlook for the sector was challenging, there are pockets of opportunity. Companies with proprietary technology are expected to fare better in the challenging conditions.
Weak business confidence and a surplus-hungry federal government have made for a difficult time for the software and managed information technology service sector. IT projects are often the first to be cut, or delayed, during bouts of cutting by companies and government.
“They get knocked around," said the head of investments at OC Funds Management Robert Frost about the nation’s relatively small IT firms.
