Nearmap layoffs driven by C-suite, not PE owners: new CEO

New Nearmap chief executive Andy Watt has played down the role of its US private equity owner Thoma Bravo in the mass layoffs and leadership changes announced to staff on Wednesday, saying it was the company’s executive team driving the changes.
But sources close to the company believe it’s a cautionary tale for other companies that fall into the crosshairs of private equity.
