Money laundering watchdog calls in auditors at Binance

The financial crimes regulator has ordered Binance Australia to appoint an external auditor, saying it has serious concerns that the global cryptocurrency exchange’s anti-money laundering and counterterrorism financing controls are not up to scratch.

The Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) has said Binance Australia has 28 days to nominate external auditors, after the regulator identified problems with the company’s latest independent review.
