How a $60m computer called MAVERIC could change Australia’s AI future

As far as acronyms go, MAVERIC might be one of the more prescient monikers given to a computer, especially one that costs $60 million and comes with the promise of transforming human understanding of everything from rare cancers to climate change.

The Monash Advanced Environment for Research and Intelligent Computing is not just any old computer, but a supercomputer that will, when up and running next year, be able to manage and interpret vast quantities of data using artificial intelligence models that could forge the next scientific revolution.
