The Asia-Pacific region will experience surging demand for tablet computers like the iPad in coming years and will represent 35 per cent of global sales by 2015, according to a forecast by analyst firm Ovum. It found that low sales of personal computers in some of the region’s countries meant the potential was more significant than elsewhere. If the prediction is accurate there will be 52 million items sold in the region in 2015, up from 2.8 million last year.
