Earnings hit from sales slowdown the biggest risk to Aussie tech
Local tech companies will not escape the sales cycle slowdown being experienced by their US peers, analysts say, but the hit to earnings likely will not be felt until the second half of the financial year.
In January, the consequences of the extended time to win new enterprise business deals was reflected in the earnings results of the US tech giants, with revenue growth slowing across Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft’s commercial Windows products and cloud services. Analysts consensus estimates are predicting Salesforce will record its slowest revenue growth in a decade for the 12 months to January 31.
