Singaporean e-scooter start-up Neuron Mobility has promised Australians its on-demand scooters will not become urban eyesores thrown up trees, or discarded in rivers, as it plans to expand across the country following a $27 million funding round led by Australian venture fund Square Peg Capital.
Unlike the disastrous failure of oBikes in Australia, Neuron said it has worked with local regulators from the outset and in June won a permit from Brisbane City Council to operate 60 per cent of the fleet of scooters permitted in the Queensland capital, with Lime granted the other 40 per cent.
