A controversial property subletting start-up backed by Blackbird Ventures will pay more than $230,000 in fines to New York regulators after admitting to breaking the city’s short-term rental laws.
Kiki Club is an invite-only subletting business helmed by New Zealander Toby Thomas-Smith. It was once valued at $42 million but has changed product direction five times in the seven years it has operated.
