Customer satisfaction with the big four banks fell for the fifth consecutive month in June, down 0.20 of a percentage point to 76 per cent. Roy Morgan research director Norman Morris said: “Although each of the big four has shown some decline since January, it has been the ANZ that clearly has had the biggest fall over this period, going down by 5.4 percentage points, due mainly to a 10.1 percentage point drop in the satisfaction level of their home loan customers.”
Aquarius Platinum reported production of 178,176 ounces of platinum group metals during the June quarter – up 1 per cent from the March quarter – but three of its six operations were bleeding cash at a higher rate during the quarter. Since June, Aquarius has announced plans to close two of the loss-making South African platinum operations, Everest and Marikana. At the remaining loss-making mine, Kroondal, Aquarius said production improved during the quarter but remained disrupted by issues with hanging wall supports.Jamie Freed
