Commonwealth Bank has dismissed concerns that it will be more vulnerable to a major outage after moving all of its core systems into Amazon Web Services’ cloud, just before the tech giant suffered a crash that crippled its US customers.
AWS says it is still investigating the cause of this week’s outage which struck a swath of online services from Atlassian and Canva to Coinbase, Hinge and Reddit on Monday night. The outage saw some of the world’s most popular websites disappear for 15 hours.
