ASX-listed bitcoin trading company Digital CC has moved to expand into the $436 billion global remittance market, which has been abandoned by the banks, developing a peer-to-peer transacting technology its says will allow remittance payments to be made via a mobile app.

The new system, called AirPocket is designed to use bitcoin's blockchain technology – an open ledger of irreversible transactions – to allow anyone to send money to people in another country.
