Aussie tech unicorn to move to US to avoid making financials public
SafetyCulture, the Sydney-based workplace software company valued at $2 billion by a fundraising in 2021, has threatened to shift its domicile from Australia to the US unless laws compelling it to publicly lodge financial statements are changed.
Luke Anear, who founded SafetyCulture in his Townsville kitchen in 2004, was incensed by what he called “sensationalist” media reports that followed the proprietary company lodging its audited accounts for 2021-22 with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission last Monday.
