Amazon invests an additional $6.2b in AI firm Anthropic
Amazon is investing an additional $US4 billion ($6.2 billion) in artificial intelligence start-up Anthropic, boosting its stake in one of OpenAI’s chief rivals.
The new infusion, announced by the companies on Friday (Saturday AEDT), follows a $US4 billion investment in Anthropic completed earlier this year. The deal included provisions that Anthropic use Amazon Web Services data centres for some of its computing needs and AWS-designed AI chips.
