Shares in Venture Minerals have shot up 21.4 per cent today after the company announced a new tin discovery near its Mount Lindsay project in Tasmania.

Venture said on Thursday it had encountered high-grade tin mineralisation in its first drillhole at the Big Wilson prospect, 6 kilometres north-west of Mt Lindsay.
