Amid all the talk about the proposed resource super profit tax (RSPT), it is worth sparing a thought for smaller companies that are trying to approve new mining developments in the next six months or so.

It is difficult enough to find equity investors willing to chip in capital for projects at the moment with so much uncertainty swirling around the tax regime.
