There may soon be movement on the register of the tightly held Brisbane Airport Corporation, with one of the company’s six shareholders bringing in Macquarie Capital bankers to help offload its stake.
Along with the two other major East Coast airports in Sydney and Melbourne, Brisbane has seen a significant rebound in traveller numbers out of the COVID-19 pandemic. It reported that 1.77 million passengers passed through its gates in March, 90 per cent of pre-pandemic levels and slightly up from the prior post-pandemic peak in January.
