Judge Rolf Driver's nearly 120-page judgment on law firm Atanaskovic Hartnell's treatment of its ex-general manager Elizabeth Kelly, handed down last week, provides a lively insight into the world of high-flying solicitor John Atanaskovic.
The combative and brilliant corporate lawyer (in Judge Driver’s words, “highly intelligent” and “keen to demonstrate it”) has at one stage or another worked for everyone that matters in Sydney. And he didn’t hold back in testimony to the court, leading Judge Driver to remark that Atanaskovic seemed practiced in “denigrating and treating unfairly persons who disagree with him or in any manner challenge his authority, and, in particular, will hold a grudge against such individuals”.
