Michael RoddanNational correspondentIt’s exactly a year since chairman of The Star Entertainment Group, John O’Neill AO, lobbed a $12 billion merger proposal at rival Crown Resorts which, keen readers will remember, was having some regulatory troubles of its own at the time.
The paperwork for the scheme, lodged with the ASX on May 10 last year, reveals absurd levels of self-delusion on the part of Star directors who, as preparation for their interrogation by Adam Bell SC over the next fortnight, may well be punching their CVs into Seek.com.au.
