Rex deputy chairman John Sharp is a man you want to pay attention to. That’s because unlike most in his position, he often does his audience the courtesy of actually telling them something new.

Like he did to business reporter Patrick Hatch last week, revealing the airline was close to leasing four new Boeing 737s within “the next couple of months”. Rex had planned to have 10 jets (it currently has six) by the end of 2021, but Sharp said it expected to take delivery sooner. Possibly by September.
