With celebrated soldier/war criminal Ben Roberts-Smithgravely tarnished and Twiggy Forrest apparently beyond the pale (courtesy of a commercial feud with Kerry Stokes), it’s fallen to Gina Rinehart to salve the ego of Western Australia. And so, she was crowned by outgoing premier Mark McGowan last week as the 2023 West Australian of the Year.
