Teal member for Wentworth Allegra Spender’s decision to jettison her weekender on the North Shore’s Great Mackerel Beach has been widely noted, as has her purchase (with Canva executive husband Mark Capps) of a far more impressive beach house two doors down.
So far not canvassed, though far more significant, is the identity of the buyer. It’s Space Industry Association of Australia head James Brown — formerly chief of the NSW RSL and Malcolm Turnbull’s ex-son-in-law — whose move to federal politics for the Liberal Party (including, funnily enough, in what is now Spender’s seat of Wentworth) has long been speculated.
