Coach Eddie Jones always denied there were plans to ditch the Wallabies. Events seem primed to blow up in the faces of Rugby Australia, including the board.
At some point on Wednesday, Japan’s rugby authorities will probably approve Eddie Jones as the next coach of the national team.
It’s the second shoe dropping. The bridge burning. Jones will have departed these shores with two birds flipped. It’s a fitting capstone on the sport’s annus horribilis. The events will also put a nice bow on top of the Hamish McLennan era.
