Racing and rugby league chief Peter V’landys’ penchant for wining and dining politicians, journalists and their bosses is a trademark not-subtle ploy of the man. So it was again, he handpicked media VIPs for his directors’ room at The Everest on Saturday.

Those in his suite overlooking the post at Randwick included Foxtel’s Patrick Delany, Nine Entertainment CEO Matt Stanton and News Corp’s top beard Michael Miller.
