Michael RoddanNational correspondentNSW Transport Minister David Elliott made a splash on the front page of Monday’s The Daily Telegraph for his heroic intervention preventing plodding bureaucrats from buying Indonesian ferries that behead passengers who pass under Parramatta River bridges.
Great yarn, sure. But the timing of Elliott’s confirmation of his departmental rebuke, and his apparently new edict that new ferries be built in Australia, is notable.
