As this column went to bed, celebrations were in full swing at the Mandarin Oriental in New York, where the billionaire was hosting what is sure to be the first of many festive shindigs in the Big Apple. That’s assuming Pratt sticks to his Antipodean habits, which involved numerous annual and exceedingly lavish parties at his family’s historic Melbourne mansion Raheen.
