Chair extraordinaire Anne Ward trades at a discount

In the final season of HBO’s Succession, (spoiler warning) Waystar Royco chief Logan Roy dies. As the markets learn of his death, the Roy siblings look at a phone, watching the company’s share price crater. Son Roman Roy blithely remarks “that’s Dad”, a neat encapsulation of what an individual can do to a share price.

On Monday morning, Articore (the ecommerce group behind Redbubble) announced chair Anne Ward had resigned. This was 18 hours after this column flagged a putsch by former CEO Richard Cawsey against Ward and the board. In the three trading days since, Articore’s share price has surged 35 per cent. That’s Anne!
